LineHaul Driver

Position Summary:
Responsible for delivering less than truckload freight shipments from one terminal to another while following correct documentation, regulations, policies, procedures, and safety requirement.
Performance Expectations:
  • fill out all documents legibly and correctly associated with transporting freight including weekly fuel mileage reports, logs, etc. following procedural, operational and safety guide lines (Federal Motor Vehicles, NTC, etc.)
  • unhook and hook tractor and trailers as needed
  • fuel equipment as necessary
  • maintain equipment within the standards of NTC and Federal Motor Carrier guidelines
  • perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on all equipment
  • report damaged or defective equipment according to company guidelines
  • follow dispatch instructions and communicate as required
  • may be required to perform job duties of dock and road drivers occasionally
  • follow all company policies and procedures and Federal laws and regulations
  • occasionally unload and load trailers using forklift, pallet jack, hand cart and other associated freight moving equipment
